Oyster Bay Harbor

📍 Oyster Bay Harbor, Oyster Bay, NY 11771

The harbor that gave Oyster Bay its name — first recorded by Dutch explorer David de Vries in 1639. Historically one of Long Island's most productive oyster-producing waters, the harbor today is home to the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club (est. 1871), one of the oldest yacht clubs in the Western Hemisphere. The oyster industry, nearly collapsed by the 20th century, is experiencing a revival with local oyster farmers returning to the bay.
