The Waterfront Center & Oyster Sloop Christeen

Home to the oyster sloop Christeen, built in 1883 and the oldest known surviving work boat in America — a National Historic Landmark. The Waterfront Center offers sailing programs, environmental education, and public sails aboard Christeen on Oyster Bay Harbor. The sloop is a living connection to the days when Oyster Bay's waters produced oysters for all of New York City.
